1.    What types of clothes do you like wearing?

 I prefer casual clothes actually. I hate getting dressed up for special occasions personally I feel much more comfortable in a pair of jeans and a T-shirt or a jumper but always try to keep up with the latest fashion, you know, have to be on trend, at least

->  Mình thích những bô quần áo thông thường, bạn biết đấy. Mình ghét phải ăn diện cho những dịp đặc biệt. Về cá nhân mình thì mình thấy thoải mái nhất khi mặc quần jean áo phông hoặc là một cái áo thùng nhưng luôn luôn phải theo mốt, phải theo xu hướng, it nhất là thế. Hehe.

2.    Do you enjoy buying clothes?

I used to…yes… like most young people I was a bit of a slave to fashion and I’d always have to buy this must-have shirt or that pair of shoes … but I’m not so bothered now though … I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing something old fashioned but I’m not as bothered as I used to be about what I wear as long as it suits me and the situation.

-> Đã từng, một thời..Giống như những bạn trẻ khác, tôi luôn muốn theo đuổi xu hướng thời trang mới nhất, tôi luôn muốn phải mua cái áo này, phải mua đôi giày kia..Nhưng giờ tôi không còn quá bận tâm nữa. Tôi sẽ không cảm thấy thoải mái khi mặc những bộ đồ lỗi mốt nhưng tôi không quá bận tậm đến những gì tôi mặc miễn là nó hợp với tôi và hợp với hoàn cảnh là được.

3.    Are clothes and clothing fashions important to you?

 Oh, not really, clothes and fashions are not so important to me. I tend to wear clothes that are comfortable and practical rather than fashionable but because I usually have a good sense of style so even wearing casual ones, I still see myself well-dressed.haha

-> Không hẳn. Quần áo và thời trang không thực sự quá quan trong với tôi. Tôi có xu hướng mặc đồ thoải mái và tiện lợi hơn là thời trang. Tuy nhiên, vì tôi có gu thời trang khá tốt nên thậm chí khi mặc những bộ đồ bình thường, tôi vẫn cảm thấy mình mặc đẹp, hehe.

4.    Do you wear different styles of clothes now compared to 10 years ago?

Of course yes. 10 years ago, almost all of my clothes were hand-downs from my cousins. And you know, fashion trend was different too but nowadays, somewhere on the road, we can still see vintage clothes are crawling back to the highest of fashion. I don’t know how?

-> Tất nhiên là khác rồi. 10 năm trước, tôi hầu như chỉ mặc đồ thừa của anh chị họ tôi. Và bạn biết đấy, xu hướng thời trang cũng khác nhiều nhưng bây giờ, ở đâu đó chúng ta vẫn thấy những bộ quần áo từ thời kỳ trước đang dần quay trở lại chiếm giữ xu hướng thời trang của chúng ta trong một ngày không xa.

5.    What can we learn about a person from the clothes that they wear?

Well, I think clothes people are wearing can say something about who they are. I mean, you know, some people are really careful about what they wear because they want to be seen as stylish, they have pride in their appearance. Other people wear clothes that show wealth or status, such as clothes from a fashion house or by famous designers. But you know, sometime, people just wanna flaunt and show off what does not really belong to them, if you know what I mean, I don’t know why they’re doing that.

-> Tôi nghĩ trang phục mà một người mặc có thể giúp chúng ta biết một chút về con người họ. Bạn biết đấy, một vài người rất quan tâm đên những gì họ mặc vì họ muốn trông phong cách, họ là những người chăm chút đến ngoại hình của mình Những người khác mặc để khoe sự giàu có cũng như địa vị của mình, ví dụ như họ mặc những bộ quần áo của những thương hiệu nổi tiếng hoặc của những nhà thiết kế lừng danh. Nhưng cũng có một số họ chỉ đơn giản muốn khoe khoang, phô trương những cái không thực sự thuộc về họ, bạn biết đâu. Tôi không biết tại sao họ lại phải làm như vậy.

the in the thing (= fashionable)

up-to-the-minute (= the most recent)

I don’t really follow up-to-the-minute fashions.

dressed to the nines (= wearing very formal clothes)

ex: If a person is dressed to the nines, then it usually means they want to impress someone.
